Alembic Pharmaceuticals is a leading Indian pharma company offering branded generic medicines in India and global markets. Their sales are driven by medical representatives who engage doctors, generate prescriptions, and coordinate with distributors and pharmacies, with performance tracked through targets and reports.
They approached us to reimagine Grow - their sales performance app used by MRs across products and regions.

The primary goal was to transform a functional tool into a habit-building sales experience by introducing gamification that makes progress intuitive, competition meaningful, and daily usage engaging and enjoyable.
Stakeholders Workshop
We started with a workshop to align everyone on the goals. Through user interviews, understanding MR daily workflows, reviewing the existing UX, and defining the gamification approach, we identified where gamification could genuinely improve behaviour and engagement while meeting business needs.



From synthesis, we identified three major opportunities:
• Simplify the information architecture to remove cognitive load
• Introduce motivating feedback loops to drive daily usage
• Visualise progress in intuitive, game-like formats to promote healthy competition
Challenges we found
Information Overload
MRs frequently faced dense screens filled with numbers, making it
difficult to focus on what truly mattered.
Monotonous Experience
Repetitive layouts created low engagement, reducing the incentive for daily usage.
Lack of Transparency
Users struggled to track their progress clearly or compare performance against peers.

Daily Sales Race
Multi-Terrain Themes
A dynamic, thematic race environment transformed daily progress into a visual journey. Each day feels new, playful, and engaging - breaking the monotony of data-heavy screens.
Cityscape Progress Map
A visual race map helps MRs understand their monthly standing relative to their peers, making competition transparent and easy to interpret.


Coins, Leaderboards & Achievements
A coin-based system rewards daily actions, milestones, and consistent performance.
Leaderboards reinforce motivation, while badges provide moments of achievement and personal celebration.
Process Gamification
The workflow was restructured into smaller, digestible progress steps—reducing overload and enabling quick decision-making.

Behaviour-first design: Shifted from information-heavy screens to engaging flows that drive regular use.
Motivation framework: Rewards, challenges, leaderboards, and progress visuals build lasting habits.
Thoughtful gamification: Purpose-built game loops and reinforcements, not superficial add-ons.
Enterprise alignment: Gamification enhances engagement without compromising sales rigor or data accuracy.
